GAZA (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority has turned down a request tabled by the Mandela foundation catering for Palestinian captives in occupation jails to release Samar Subaih and her toddler after serving one third of her prison term.
The foundation said in a press release that its lawyer tabled the request with the court to release Subaih from Hasharon jail along with her toddler Bara’a but the Israeli prosecutor refused the request.
Subaih who has been detained since 29/9/2005 was pregnant when she was arrested and gave birth to her baby boy in Kfar Saba hospital on 30/4/2006.
An Israeli court sentenced Subaih to 28 months behind bars and a 500 dollars fine. Her husband was arrested on 30/9/2005 and was released in June 2006 after administrative detention without trial or charge. He was deported from prison to the Gaza Strip.
