The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) renewed on Thursday night the house arrest of the Palestinian governor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith for four more months.
The Jerusalem governorate said in a statement late Thursday that the Israeli intelligence summoned and interrogated Ghaith for hours in Maskobiya detention center in Occupied Jerusalem.
The statement added that the intelligence accused the governor of not abiding by its orders and of “posing a security threat to the state of Israel”.
The decision further stipulates that the governor would not be allowed to contact any Palestinian Authority official.
Israeli occupation police had broken into the governor’s house in Silwan to the south of the Aqsa Mosque a few days earlier and assaulted him and his family members.
