Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Wednesday distributed notices to seize over 160 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in Qalqilya West Bank while Israeli bulldozers embarked on razing Palestinian lands to build a new road for Jewish settlers in the Jordan Valley.
Local sources said that the IOA in the morning distributed 166 orders to Palestinian citizens for the confiscation of about 160 dunums of land in Qalqilya.
Palestinian land owners were shocked by the arbitrary move especially that most of the threatened lands are located on the Palestinian side of the apartheid wall.
Meanwhile anti-settlement activist Mu’taz Bisharat said that the IOA has started razing Palestinian lands in the middle area of the Jordan Valley in preparation for a new settlement project which is probably a new road for Jewish settlers.
Israel’s settlement activity has been on the rise recently in the occupied territories as the government is preparing to annex the Jordan Valley and large parts of the West Bank.
