The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Thursday installed surveillance cameras across illegal settlement outposts in Jerusalem’s town of Silwan to the south of holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
A series of cameras was installed across Silwan at a time when clashes between the Palestinian locals and the Israeli illegal settlers and cops have reached a peak particularly in the evening.
Over recent months nearly $8 million were allotted by the occupation authorities to a network of surveillance cameras across the Old City of Jerusalem in an attempt to tighten grip on Palestinians living in Occupied Jerusalem and to rein in anti-occupation activism across the city.
