The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished on Wednesday a Palestinian market in the Old City of al-Khalil south of the West Bank.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission Israeli bulldozers started on Wednesday to demolish parts of the old vegetable market known as “Hisba” in al-Khalil.
The Commission affirmed that the demolition of this market was part of the occupation state’s efforts to Judaize the Old City of al-Khalil change its landmarks and build new projects for Jewish settlers.
The market was a wholesale vegetable bazaar before the IOA closed it to Palestinians following the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre on February 25 1994 which was committed by an extremist Jewish settler.
