The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) notified the demolition of houses water wells and agricultural rooms in the al-Jawaya community east of Yatta south of al-Khalil.
Fuad Al-Amour the coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committee in the south of al-Khalil stated on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the al-Jawaya community east of Yatta and issued a notice to demolish six homes two water wells and four agricultural rooms made of tin in the community.
Amour pointed out that these facilities are owned by the Nawajah and al-Shawwahin families and are located near the settlement of Maon.
He explained that the IOA issued the demolition orders under the pretext of unlicensed buildings and claiming their proximity to the settlement bypass road and the settlements of East Yatta.
The Maon settlement was established in 1980 and it is located in the southernmost part of the West Bank. Maon is an agricultural settlement with an area of more than 4000 dunums and it has a center for Biblical studies. The nearest Palestinian town to this settlement is Yatta and Khirbet al-Karmel.
