The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has declared its intent recently to annex vast tracts of Palestinian land in western Salfit in the West Bank to install a new sewer pipe for Jewish settlers.
The sewer line will pass through the land of Deir Istiya town in Salfit province and will be eight kilometers long and 30 meters wide according to Deir Istiya mayor Sa’eid Zaidan.
The sewer line will start from the illegal settlement of Immanuel and goes all the way through the lands of Deir Istiya until it reaches Wadi Qana area.
Mayor Zaidan pointed out that the seized land belong to local residents from Deir Istiya warning that the Israeli project would cause considerable damage to agricultural areas and pollute underground water resources in the region.
