The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has endorsed plans on Friday for building 820 new housing units in southern Jerusalem.
The IOA municipality’s so-called Local Planning and Building Committee said that the two-phased project would be carried out in the southern areas of Jerusalem.
The first stage would include the building of 330 housing units while in the second stage 490 housing units would be built.
The new housing units fall in line with the IOA plan of the so-called Greater Jerusalem which covers 11% of the total area of the West Bank.
