The Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) ordered on Monday the confiscation of more than 600 dunums in Tarqumiya town northwest of al-Khalil in the south of the occupied West Bank.
Member of the Land Defense Committee in the town Suleiman Jaafara affirmed that “the IOA notified a number of local residents to evacuate their lands planted with olive trees and vines under the pretext of being state property.”
The land’s owners have previously proved their land ownership Jaafara pointed out saying that the IOA confiscation decision aims to expand settlements in the area.
Palestinian estimates indicate there are about 650000 Jewish settlers living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts in the occupied West Bank including in East Jerusalem.
