Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) on Monday ordered the demolition of several Palestinian-owned houses and barns in Birin village in the West Bank district of al-Khalil.
Local sources said that the IOA distributed orders to demolish three Palestinian houses under construction owned by the Palestinian citizens As’ad Burqan Ya’coub Burqan and Ismail Burqan.
The IOA further ordered the demolition of five barns owned by the Azazma and Faqir families.
The Palestinian residents of Birin have been subjected to systematic demolition and displacement campaigns that are aimed at forcing them out of the village to clear the way for more settlement projects.
There are over 50 Israeli settlements and outposts in al-Khalil inhabited by about 30000 Israeli settlers who seek to gradually tighten their grip on the district and empty it of its Palestinian residents.
