An Israeli court has issued on Monday evening a demolition order against Sur Baher Club in Occupied Jerusalem under the pretext of being built without an Israeli-issued permit.
The Club’s chairman Ashraf Amera said that the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) had earlier issued four demolition notices against the club in less than one year.
He underlined that the club administration had rejected an Israeli offer to take control over the club land in exchange for other projects under Israeli supervision.
“Two years ago we registered the club and its eight-dunum land as an Islamic Waqf (endowment) to protect it from Israeli confiscation attempts” he clarified.
The IOA decision is part of the Israeli policy of targeting the Palestinian sports and national identity he charged.
