The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) decided late on Monday to demolish the family houses of two slain Palestinians suspected of killing an Israeli soldier on September 14.
Hebrew media sources quoted an Israeli military spokesman as approving the demolition order after rejecting the objections submitted by the two suspects’ families.
Last September Ahmed and Abdel Rahman Abed were killed in an exchange of fire near Al-Jalama military checkpoint. An Israeli soldier was killed during the incident.
Israel routinely demolishes the homes of slain or captured Palestinians who are suspected of carrying out anti-occupation attacks saying it serves as a deterrent against future attackers.
However rights groups affirm the practice amounts to collective punishment.
