QALQILIA (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has issued orders for the confiscation of thousands of cultivated land lots to the east and south of Qalqilia north of the West Bank.
Ahmed Amran the municipality chief of Azun village to the east of Qalqilia said in a press release on Monday that large swaths of land in villages east and south of Qalqilia would be lost to the IOA.
He said that the IOA claimed the land would be used to extend a new electricity network warning of other unannounced intentions such as annexing those lands to nearby settlements to expand them.
The municipalities of those villages would aid the affected citizens by hiring lawyers to help them challenge the IOA decision in courts Amran said.
