The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested a Palestinian young man northeast of the Gaza Strip on Saturday.
A Palestinian young man was arrested by the IOF “after attempting to cross the northern section of the border fence” the Israeli army reported.
The head of the studies and documentation unit of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Abdel Nasser Farwana has said that the IOF had arrested about 77 Palestinian civilians from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of 2022.
In a press statement on Saturday Farwana pointed out that most of the arrestees were detained while trying to cross into 1948 Occupied Palestine adding that a number of Palestinian civilians were arrested while crossing Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.
“4650 Palestinian detainees are being held in 23 prisons or detention and interrogation centers” the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported last August.
