IOF atrocities in the West Bank persist Palestinian resistance retaliates

Wednesday 13-December-2006

NABLUS (PIC)– IOF troops manning the Bahria checkpoint south of the West Bank city of Nablus Tuesday evening blocked the sick Palestinian citizen Ismail Ramadan 48 from reaching hospital which led to his death.

Eyewitnesses present at the Bahria checkpoint south of the city affirmed that Israeli soldiers stationed at the barrier stopped the man who was suffering a heart attack and denied him access to the hospital.

A Palestinian citizen the witnesses added took Ramadan and immediately headed to the hospital taking a turnaround road; but the man died minutes before arriving to hospital.

This comes amidst noticeable increase in IOF troops’ atrocities in the West Bank in clear violation of the truce with the Palestinian factions which was declared three weeks ago.

Local Palestinian sources in Jenin city revealed that large numbers of IOF troops backed by at least 30 military vehicles stormed the city and its nearby refugee camp ransacking Palestinian homes and turning a number of them into military barracks.

Four Palestinian citizens were rounded up during the raid and led to an unidentified location.

In Tulkarm city Israeli choppers were intensively hovering in the city’s skies conducting airborne landing operations at a number of the olive fields in the city and nearby villages.

IOF troops banned inhabitants of Tulkarm below 35 years old from crossing the checkpoints they installed at the city’s main roads.

Tension ran high in the city as a result of those IOF raids that led to the arrest of three Palestinian fighters including commander of the Quds Brigades armed wing of the Islamic Jihad in the city.

The Brigades for its part announced that its fighters succeeded in unleashing three home-made middle-range Quds missiles from Gaza Strip at Sdeort settlement in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands.

A military communiqué issued by the armed wing and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC affirmed that the shelling of the colony was in retaliation to the non-stop IOF troops’ violations of the truce that according to the communiqué reached 200 violations against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank since the truce was declared.

An IOF spokesman said that 12 Palestinians were arrested overnight Tuesday in Al-Khalil Jenin and Bethlehem districts.
