IOF attacks Kafr Qaddum march injures seven young protesters

Saturday 1-August-2020

Several Palestinian young men had bullet injuries and dozens suffered from their exposure to tear gas on Friday the first day of Eid al-Adha when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled the weekly march in Kafr Qaddum town east of Qalqilya.

Local official Murad Shetaiwi said that Israeli soldiers stormed the town and showered the participants in the marches with volleys of stun and tear gas grenades and fired rubber and live bullets at them.

Shetaiwi added that seven young protesters were injured by rubber bullets and dozens suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes.

The participants carried Palestinian flags and placards and chanted slogans condemning Israel’s intents to annex West Bank lands and calling for reopening the town’s main road which has been blocked for over 16 years.

In a separate incident the IOF on the same day prevented Palestinian citizens from performing the Eid prayer on their lands in Hares village west of Salfit.

According to local sources dozens of citizens performed the Eid prayer and listened to the khutba at the main entrance to the village after the IOF barred them from reaching their lands which the Israeli army intends to seize for settlement projects.
