The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out gunfire and teargas attacks on agricultural border areas in the southeast of the besieged Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
According to local sources Israeli soldiers at military posts behind the border fence fired their machineguns at swaths of cultivated land near the Karam Abu Salem border crossing which prevented Gazan farmers from entering the area to work their lands.
The IOF also fired tear gas canisters at swaths of agricultural land in the east of Abasan al-Kabira town in Khan Yunis.
No one was reportedly hurt in the IOF attacks.
The border areas of Gaza are repeatedly exposed to Israeli military incursions and gunfire or teargas attacks. Such violations cause considerable damage to crops and prevent farmers from working their lands.
Under an inhumane siege the Israeli army keeps attacking — sometimes injuring or killing — farmers and fishermen almost on a daily basis with no regard for any mediated ceasefire deal in Gaza or even the international law.
