Several Palestinians were injured while others were detained as clashes broke out at Qalandia checkpoint south of Ramallah when Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) prevented their access to Occupied Jerusalem en route to al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to the PIC field reporter IOF soldiers prevented thousands of worshipers from crossing the checkpoint to perform Friday prayer in al-Aqsa.
Many youths were forced to climb the Israeli apartheid wall. However some of them were arrested.
Meanwhile several worshipers suffered breathing problems due to the IOF’s heavy firing of teargas bombs during the clashes.
A state of tension has prevailed at Qalandia checkpoint the sole link between West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
