IOF bars Deir al-Ghusun villagers from harvesting olive crops

Sunday 11-October-2020

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday morning prevented Palestinian farmers in Deir al-Ghusun town north of Tulkarem from reaching their olive groves to harvest their crops.

According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission a group of farmers were on their way to their groves behind the separation wall to pick olives when Israeli soldiers intercepted them and barred them from entering the area.

The Commission accused the Israeli army of responding to Jewish settlers’ calls for preventing Palestinian farmers in the West Bank from entering their lands near the settlements during the olive harvest season.

In recent days the Israeli military commander in the occupied West Bank issued 63 orders imposing closures on olive areas in different areas during the harvest season.
