IOF blocks foreign activists’ entry into West Bank

Monday 22-January-2018

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Sunday denied a group of pro-Palestine activists’ entry into the West Bank via the Jordan Valley and forced them to turn back.

The activist Leonard Timol reported that the group includes a number of European pro-Palestine and BDS-affiliated activists who support the Palestinian right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

We tried to reach the West Bank via three different entrances Timol continued.

“However Israeli forces detain our peaceful activists at Jenin Ramallah and the Jordan Valley entrances and denied their access.”

We were detained for several hours at the Jordan Valley entrance before being moved to al-Hamra checkpoint where we were violently treated and forced to turn back the activist Nour al-Urani explained.

The ban came as part of Israeli government’s continued crimes and apartheid policy she added.
