The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning prevented Palestinian citizens from entering or leaving Ya’bad town southwest of Jenin.
According to local sources the IOF set up barriers on the main roads leading to the town and at the main entrance to the nearby village of Kufeirat and blocked the movement of Palestinian citizens and their vehicles on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers stopped Palestinian vehicles at the roadblocks and embarked on searching them and checking the IDs of drivers and passengers.
Meanwhile infantry troops were also seen walking in nearby olive groves in the area.
Local sources said that such road closures prompted many drivers to use alternative routes to go to their destinations.
Road closures in the West Bank have long been a routine method of oppression used by Israel the occupying power against the local residents.
