The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) broke into Birzeit University north of Ramallah at dawn Wednesday and confiscated equipment belonging to the Islamic student bloc.
The Israeli forces violently blew up the university gates and stormed several buildings including the administration building.
Dean of Student Affairs at Birzeit University Mohammed al-Ahmed told Quds Press that IOF soldiers carried out a violent raid and search campaign throughout the university campus and confiscated equipment belonging to the Islamic bloc Hamas’s student wing.
He strongly denounced the Israeli attack on the university pointing out that heavy material losses were caused during the raid.
The attack came few hours before the start of a festival to be organized by the Islamic bloc commemorating Hamas’s 29th establishment anniversary head of the student union Ahmed al-Ayesh revealed.
A similar attack was carried out two days ago in al-Quds University in Abu Dis town east of occupied Jerusalem.
