Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday afternoon stormed a Palestinian archaeological site in al-Muwaraq village in al-Khalil province.
Quds Press reported quoting local sources that a number of military vehicles broke into the village while a large number of IOF soldiers accompanied by officers from the Israeli army roamed al-Muwaraq Palace and prevented Palestinian movement in the area.
Israeli settlers conduct regular incursions into the Palace which dates back to the Roman era during Jewish holidays to perform Talmudic rituals.
Al-Muwaraq Palace is an ancient Roman building built on an area of 1600 square meters. The site was restored by the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in 2010 and in 2015 it was rehabilitated and cleaned in cooperation with UNESCO.
