IOF carries out fresh arrest campaigns throughout West Bank

Monday 24-April-2017

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed overnight and at dawn Monday a number of West Bank towns and cities where 12 arrests were reported.

According to the PIC field correspondent nearly ten Israeli patrols stormed Nablus city to the north of West Bank and surrounded the house of Imad Aghbar who was detained on Sunday following an alleged stabbing attack in Tel Aviv.

Aghbar’s house was violently stormed and searched during the raid while his family members were threatened and assaulted by Israeli forces.

Similar raids were carried out in Beit Ummar town in al-Khalil where a number of local houses were stormed and searched under the pretext of looking for “wanted” persons which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.

Teargas bombs and live ammunition were used during the clashes while no injuries were reported.

Also in al-Khalil IOF soldiers stormed a local farm in Yatta town south of the city in blatant provocation to the local farmers.

In Qalqilia a Palestinian was arrested in Azzun town overnight for allegedly founding a fishing weapon in his car after Israeli forces stopped and searched his vehicle.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that several military checkpoints were erected throughout the city of Qalqilia and in its vicinity.

Meanwhile Israeli military sources claimed that 12 “wanted” Palestinians were arrested overnight for being involved in anti-occupation attacks.

Three activists in Hamas Movement were among the reported arrests the sources added.

Seven other Palestinians were rounded up in Ramallah while two young men were detained in occupied Jerusalem and al-Khalil.

Along the same line Quds Press affirmed that six Palestinians including minors from al-Tamimi family were arrested in Nabi Salah village northwest of Ramallah.
