IOF carries out raid arrest campaign in West Bank

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out at dawn Friday a large-scale raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank. Six Palestinians were detained during the campaign.

A leader in Hamas Movement was among the six detainees.

Israeli media sources claimed that four “wanted” Palestinians were arrested Friday for being involved in anti-occupation attacks.

The leader in Hamas Movement Sheikh Nader Sawafta 45 was arrested after Israeli forces broke into his house in Jenin.

The house was violently searched during the raid family sources affirmed.

Sawafta a candidate in the cancelled municipal election spent more than 13 years in Israeli jails and was detained more than once in PA jails.

Also in Jenin Israeli forces arrested a university student after storming his family house in Yabad town.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that ten Israeli military vehicles stormed Yabad town at dawn Friday and broke into a local house before arresting a young man.

A military checkpoint was also erected between Yabad and Zabouba towns.

Meanwhile violent clashes broke out in Seelat al-Harithia town west of Jenin after Israeli forces stormed the town and detained and interrogated a number of local residents before being released.

Local youths responded by stoning Israeli forces who heavily fired teargas bombs and rubber bullets at the young men.

Similar raids were carried out in Nablus city where different homes were stormed and searched. A local resident was arrested during the raid.

In Qalqilia Israeli forces stormed Azzun town amid heavy firing of teargas bombs after closing its main entrance.

Several locals were interrogated during the raid.
