The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday evening set up a makeshift checkpoint at the main entrance to Sa’ir town north of al-Khalil in the West Bank and obstructed the movement of Palestinian vehicles.
A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the checkpoint caused a heavy build of traffic on both sides of the road where soldiers forced Palestinian citizens to leave the cars they were aboard for security check.
He said that the soldiers searched vehicles and checked the IDs of passengers for long hours and mostly targeted the cars leaving Sa’ir town.
The Israeli army uses makeshift and permanent checkpoints in the occupied West Bank every day to make arrests and restrict the movement of Palestinian citizens.
