The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) closed the entrances of some Palestinian villages and hamlets in Masafer Yatta area in the south of al-Khalil.
According to local sources the IOF closed the main entrances of Janba and al-Markaz villages and prevented the local residents from leaving or entering them except through checkpoints.
Other Bedouin hamlets in Masafer Yatta were also blocked by the IOF.
A few days ago the IOF threatened local residents living in these villages and hamlets that they would be arrested or fined and their vehicles would be confiscated if they moved in the closed areas.
The Israeli army started in recent months to carry out large-scale demolitions and displace local residents in Masafer Yatta after the Israeli high court approved last May the forced expulsion of more than 1000 Palestinians from eight villages in this area which is located in the southern West Bank.
