RAMALLAH (PIC)– The IOF command refused to allow the travel of PA information minister Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip to attend an important meeting.
Barghouthi in a press release on Monday said that he was supposed to attend the meeting last night in Gaza between PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and PA premier Ismail Haneyya but the IOF command refused to allow him reach Gaza.
He noted that he was denied travel to Gaza ever since he was appointed as information minister in the unity government two months ago despite repeated demands.
The minister described the IOF measure as a flagrant violation of his rights and a fresh obstacle aimed at derailing the unity government.
Barghouthi furthermore described the American security plan as an attempt to gain time through preoccupying the Palestinians in partial solutions. He explained that negotiations would tackle the roadblocks spread all over the West Bank which number more than 1000 and would take years over a barrier here or another one there.
