IOF confiscates water pipes in Jordan Valley

Saturday 7-July-2018

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday afternoon stormed Bardala town in the northern Jordan Valley and confiscated water pipes used by Palestinian farmers.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers have repeatedly destroyed and confiscated water networks established for Palestinian farmlands in the town.

The Jordan Valley is inhabited by about 10000 Palestinians who depend on livestock and agriculture as sources of income which requires the availability of adequate water resources.

Israel controls over 80% of the Jordan Valley and considers it an economic reserve where 21 Israeli settlements are built. Israel also controls water resources in the Valley and uses them as a tool to crack down on Palestinians and push them to leave the area.
