Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday demolished a Palestinian house near al-Arroub refugee camp north of al-Khalil city.
Anti-settlement activist Yousef Abu Mariya said that Israeli settlers accompanied by IOF soldiers broke into the house of the Palestinian citizen Ahmad Samara and forced the family out before it was demolished.
Abu Mariya told Quds Press that the house was demolished although Israel’s Supreme Court had ruled for halting the demolition until a final decision is issued on the matter.
The Palestinian activist said that the IOF sealed off another Palestinian house in the area with red wax.
He explained that the Israeli authorities plan to seize thousands of dunums of Palestinian-owned land in al-Arroub for settlement purposes.
Israel two years ago decided to annex Beit el-Baraka church in al-Khalil city to Gush Etzion settlement bloc located on Palestinian lands south of Bethlehem.
The church located on an area of 40 dunums was taken over by a fake company in Sweden that funds settlement projects.
