The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday morning destroyed windows and doors of the historic Khan al-Lubban caravansary in al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya village south of Nablus in the West Bank.
According to eyewitnesses the IOF cordoned off the area where the Khan al-Lubban caravansary is located and embarked using bulldozers on smashing and knocking down its outer windows and doors.
Last December Jewish settlers from the illegal settlement of Ma’ale Levona wreaked havoc on the caravansary in the village destroying doors water pipelines the spring and many orange trees.
Owner of the caravansary Khaled Daraghmeh said at the time that his property had been exposed to frequent attacks before by settlers with the aim of seizing the place and annexing it to nearby illegal settlements.
Khan al-Lubban dates back to the Ottoman era and stretches over an area of 300 dunums of land.
