IOF detains Palestinian girl over stabbing attempt claims in Ramallah

Monday 8-March-2021

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday morning detained a Palestinian young woman on allegations of her intention to carry out a stabbing attack near an illegal settler outpost in the west of Ramallah city.

The Hebrew media said that someone opened fire at a Palestinian girl during her presence on Mount al-Raysan near a small Jewish outpost called Sde Ephraim where the settlers living there claimed she attempted to carry out a stabbing attack.

The girl was subdued and detained by the settlers before handing her to the Israeli occupation army.

Palestinian local sources identified the girl as Anhar al-Hajja.

A Jewish settler who lives illegally with his family on the Palestinian-owned mount had cold-bloodedly shot dead a 34-year-old called Khaled Nofal a local resident from the nearby Palestinian village of Ras Karkar as he arrived aboard his car in the area on February 5 2021.

The slain young man’s family affirmed that a settler called Eitan Ze’ev executed its son with the connivance of the Israeli army.

Nofal who was married and had a four-year-old son went at the time to Mount Raysan where his own piece of land is located according to the family.

Eitan Ze’ev who appropriated the mount last year received an award from the head of the regional council of Israeli settlements Yossi Dagan on September 2 2020 for his involvement in a clash with Palestinians over a piece of agricultural land belonging to them that summer.

The Israeli army also provided Ze’ev with guns to kill any Palestinian who approaches the mount.
