Israeli occupation forces (IOF)detained a Palestinian merchant while attempting to cross the Beit Hanun (Erez)border crossing in northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
A source in the Palestinian bordercrossings authority said that the merchant Wa’el Taha Matar was the firstmerchant to be arrested at Beit Hanun since the beginning of this year. The IOFhad arrested six Palestinian merchants at the same crossing in 2021.
The source said that Matar hadobtained an Israeli permit to travel to the West Bank but the Israeliintelligence questioned him at the crossing then detained him.
