The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday set up a temporary checkpoint at the main entrance to the West Bank city of Salfit.
Eyewitnesses said that the IOF soldiers scrutinized the IDs of the Palestinian citizens passing through the checkpoint and imposed high traffic fines on some drivers without justification.
The checkpoint hindered the movement of vehicles forcing many drivers to take alternative roads they added.
Israel imposes strict restrictions on Palestinian movement by erecting temporary checkpoints at the entrances to the villages and towns of the West Bank every now and then.
