Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired teargas canisters at Palestinian protesters in Deir Jarir village to the east of Ramallah on Friday many of whom suffered breathing problems as a result of the intensive use of teargas against them.
Ayman Alawi the chairman of the village’s municipal council said that several Palestinians were treated for breathing difficulties adding that they were marching in protest at the Israeli settlers’ attempt to establish a new settlement outpost on their village’s land.
Hundreds of the town’s people took part in the march that started from the town’s center and headed to Jabal al-Shurafa where the settlement outpost is planned to be established.
The area has been targeted by settlers for years and they used to let their sheep graze in the villagers’ land causing much damage to the crops and big losses to the farmers.
