IOF forces farmers to leave their lands north of al-Khalil

Saturday 14-November-2020

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) forced Palestinian farmers to leave their lands in Wadi Abu al-Rish in Beit Ummar town north of al-Khalil on Saturday at gunpoint.

IOF expelled the family of the Palestinian citizen Muhammad Abd al-Hamid Jaber al-Salibi from his land in the area of Wadi Abu al-Rish adjacent to the Bat Ayin settlement which was built on Palestinian lands north of Beit Ummar.

The IOF soldiers attacked last week Salibi’s family and forced them to leave their land at gunpoint despite the fact that Salibi had obtained a court verdict from the Israeli Supreme Court to allow him to work on his land.

The weekly settlement report issued on Saturday by the Palestine Liberation Organization’s National Office for the Defense of Land and Resistance of Settlement stated that IOF soldiers attacked the elderly Salibi 77 last week. He was picking olives in Beit Ummar town on his land.

The IOF soldiers tried to prevent Salibi from working on his land and after he refused to obey them and continued picking his olives the Israeli soldiers severely beat him with rifle butts and forced him to leave the place at gunpoint according to the report.
