GAZA (PIC)– The IOF detained on Sunday the body of Mahdi Dahdouh (40 years) at the Karm Abu Salem crossing and denied its access to the Gaza Strip for burial according to Islamic rites.
Dahdouh one of the Quds Brigades’ commanders the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad died last Friday in an Egyptian hospital after sustaining fatal injuries in an IOF assassination attempt ten months ago.
PA sources said that coordination was made with the Egyptian side on Saturday to gain access for Dahdouh’s body to the Gaza Strip and the Israeli side informed the Egyptians about its approval to his family’s request to let the body in; however the body was being denied access until Sunday evening.
