The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) imposed a security siege on Nablus and closed all entrances leading to the city at dawn Wednesday.
Local sources said that IOF troops closed the main entrance to Deir Sharaf and the Hawara and Awarta checkpoints to the south of the city.
Makeshift checkpoints were also erected at the entrances to Sebastia and Beit Furik towns.
Meanwhile a general strike was declared throughout the city since the early morning hours in response to the Arin al-Osoud (Lion’s Den) armed group’s call for mobilization.
Earlier Tuesday the Arin al-Osoud announced that there would “a day of general mobilization and a general strike and a day of widespread clashes in every flashpoint in the West Bank on Wednesday” in solidarity with its besieged compatriots in Shuafat refugee camp.
