The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday morning kidnapped at least 28 Palestinian citizens during campaigns in different West Bank areas.
The IOF claimed in a statement that its forces arrested 21 wanted Palestinians accused of being involved in activities against Israel.
The IOF also said that its forces raided a forge in Yatta town south of al-Khalil and confiscated equipment used to manufacture weapons.
According to local sources in al-Khalil the IOF kidnapped at dawn Tuesday six Palestinian citizens including two women and a senior Hamas official.
Palestinian lawmaker Mohamed Bader said that a large military force stormed his house in Wadi Abu Katila neighborhood north of al-Khalil city and kidnapped his wife Sa’ida Bader who work as director of an orphan care foundation.
The IOF also broke into the house of Zain al-Abeddin Owadeh in Haram al-Rama area in al-Khalil and kidnapped his wife Sunya al-Hamouri.
Earlier a large number of Israel troops stormed last night Safa village in northern al-Khalil and raided homes which provoked violent clashes with local residents.
Several citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes and one young man was wounded by Israeli gunfire during the clashes.
Senior Hamas official Mohamed Abu Ghazi and five other citizens were reportedly kidnapped during an IOF campaign in Beit Ummar town near Safa village.
The IOF also stormed several towns and villages in Ramallah province including Beit Rima Aboud Kharbatha al-Misbah and Deir Qaddis and kidnapped eight citizens from their homes.
Six others were taken prisoners during IOF campaigns in Tulkarem Jenin Jericho and Aqabat Jaber refugee camp.
Many other citizens were also kidnapped during IOF campaigns in Deheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem and different areas of Nablus.
