Thursday 13-May-2021

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday (the first day of Eid al-Fitr) carried out violent raids on homes and kidnaped several Palestinian citizens during a campaign in different areas of northern Ramallah.

According to local sources the IOF stormed Abu Shukheidim village in northern Ramallah and kidnaped an ex-detainee called Hamoud Naser the brother of prisoner Ziyad as-Sous who is serving four life sentences.

Seven other citizens were taken prisoners during an IOF campaign in al-Mughayyir village northeast of Ramallah.

The IOF also stormed Birzeit town in Ramallah and clashed with local youths. One young man reportedly suffered a bullet injury in his leg.

In a separate incident a horde of extremist Jewish settlers on the same day at dawn infiltrated into Rujeib town in Nablus and set fire to a Palestinian car belonging to a local resident.

Several Palestinian citizens were also injured when settlers backed by soldiers stormed at-Tuwanah village in the south of al-Khalil and assaulted local residents.

Israeli forces participated in the settler attack and fired live and rubber bullets at the villagers injuring eight of them. One of those wounded villagers suffered a rubber bullet injury in his head.

The IOF also arrested some of the wounded villagers and prevented Palestinian ambulance crews from evacuating them for medical treatment.

Last night hordes of extremist settlers rallied on roads across the West Bank and hurled stones at passing vehicles.

In central Jerusalem the Red Crescent said on Wednesday that 18 Palestinians suffered injuries during violent clashes with police forces while settlers attacked homes in at-Tur town.

Meanwhile a number of young men were arrested and others suffered from injuries during clashes yesterday with the IOF in the east Jerusalem town of Sur Baher.

Local sources said that the IOF prevented ambulances from entering Sur Baher to provide help for the wounded.
