The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot and killed Al Jazeera’s journalist Shireen Abu Akleh while covering Israeli raids into Jenin city in the West Bank on Wednesday morning.
The Palestinian health ministry has announced her death after being hit by a bullet in the head.
Another Palestinian journalist was also shot by a live bullet in the back the health ministry said.
Ali Samoudi who also works for Al Jazeera was reportedly in stable condition after being hit with a live bullet in the back.
Al Jazeera’s Palestine bureau Chief Walid Al Omari affirmed that Abu Akleh was shot dead by an Israeli sniper despite wearing a vest with ‘PRESS’ insignia.
IOF soldiers stormed Jenin city in large numbers and besieged Jenin refugee camp which led to the outbreak of armed clashes with resistance fighters.
