One Palestinian citizen was killed and over 100 others were injured some seriously when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked peaceful demonstrators rallying on Mount Orma in Beita town south of Nablus before noon Wednesday.
According to the Palestinian health ministry 15-year-old Mohamed Hamayel died of a serious bullet injury in the head he sustained during his participation in the rally that was staged on Mount Orma.
Local sources said that the IOF showered the citizens on the mount with volleys of live and rubber bullets and used a drone to drop tear gas canisters on them.
Recently scores of local residents in southern Nablus have foiled repeated attempts by Jewish settlers and soldiers to take over Mount Orma and claim it as a Jewish site.
