IOF kills Palestinian young man in northern Ramallah

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian young man at dawn Thursday near the main entrance of Beitin village in the northeast of Ramallah.

An IOF spokesperson claimed the young man attacked an Israeli soldier at a military checkpoint in the area with a hammer before the soldier opened fire and killed him adding that the young man was found in possession of a knife.

The spokesperson also said that the soldier was lightly injured in the alleged attack.

Earlier a Hebrew media source claimed that the young man threw stones and a Molotov cocktail at the soldier before the latter opened fire at him and neutralized him.

Meanwhile a number of Palestinian citizens suffered injuries during dawn and morning IOF raids in the cities of Nablus and Jenin.

Local sources said that a large number of Israeli troops stormed at dawn Balata refugee camp and the eastern area of Nablus City.

The IOF used a drone to attack local residents with tear gas canisters during the clashes near Joseph’s Tomb in eastern Nablus.

According to the Red Crescent four young men were injured by rubber bullets 12 others including a journalist suffered from their exposure to tear gas and one young man had hand burns during the events in the city.

Resistance fighters reportedly opened fire at the IOF in Nablus.

In Jenin eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers and others disguised as Arab citizens stormed Jenin refugee camp Wad Burqin area and al-Hadaf neighborhood in Jenin City and raided a number of homes.

Military reinforcements were also rushed to al-Hadaf area after soldiers and their vehicles came under fire from Jenin resistance fighters.

During the IOF campaign in Jenin the IOF kidnaped five citizens including three women. All the detainees are from the family of Ghawadra whose relatives are accused of carrying out the shooting operation that targeted a bus a few days ago in the Jordan Valley.

Israel’s Channel 14 said that one soldier was wounded during Jenin clashes.

In a separate incident violent clashes broke out at dawn between local youths and Israeli soldiers in Qalandia refugee camp east of Occupied Jerusalem.

The IOF kidnaped a young man called Walid al-Araj after storming his home in Qalandia camp.
