Sunday 1-October-2017

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Sunday carried out widespread raids on Palestinian homes and kidnapped citizens as part of their daily campaigns in the West Bank.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that a large number of Israeli troops aboard military vehicles stormed al-Deheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem and raided several homes.

They added that the IOF kidnapped a young man called Mohamed al-Alimi from his home in the camp and engaged in violent clashes with local young men.

One soldier was reportedly injured during the confrontations in the camp.

Another young man was taken prisoner during an IOF campaign in al-Khader town south of Bethlehem.

The IOF also stormed the nearby town of al-Dawha and kidnapped a woman from her home. There is still no information about her identity.

Local sources reported the occurrence of violent clashes and hearing explosions during the IOF campaign in al-Dawha town.

They added that several young men suffered injuries and others were arrested during the events.

The IOF also stormed Beit Anan village northwest of Jerusalem and kidnapped five young men from their homes.

The detention of the young men in the village angered their compatriots and provoked them into throwing stones at the soldiers who responded by firing tear gas and stun grenades as they were leaving the area.

The IOF also raided homes in Beit Surik town northwest of Jerusalem and handed several citizens summonses for interrogation from the Shin Bet.

In al-Khalil the IOF broke into and ransacked many homes in Bani Na’im town belonging to the families of al-Manaserah al-Khadour Humaidat at-Taraira.

In a statement the Israeli army claimed its forces founded and confiscated rifles during its search campaign in Bani Na’im.

The IOF also launched a violent raid on the house of ex-detainee Munder al-Janedi in al-Khalil city and caused widespread damage to its furniture.

Meanwhile an Israeli military force put up a warning notice on a Mosque’s window in al-Jame’ah neighborhood in the northern district of al-Khalil. The notice warns of punitive measures against the local residents in case attacks on soldiers did not stop.
