The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday morning carried out a large-scale military campaign in Jenin province in search for the Palestinian resistance fighter Ahmad Jarrar.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the IOF soldiers raided dozens of houses in Burqin town to the west of Jenin and arrested three Palestinian citizens including an ex-prisoner.
The PIC reporter said quoting local sources in al-Kafir town to the south of Jenin that the Israeli soldiers besieged a Palestinian house belonging to Ershid family and ordered its inhabitants to hand themselves in.
The sources said that a military bulldozer accompanied the IOF in the raid adding that sounds of gunfire were heard in the town.
A few hours later the IOF withdrew from al-Kafir after arresting two Palestinian citizens.
In a related context the IOF abruptly closed all entrances to Aqaba town to the south of Jenin during the morning hours and prevented the Palestinian citizens from entering or leaving the town.
Dozens of Palestinians were injured in violent clashes in al-Zababdeh town during which the IOF soldiers heavily fired metal and live bullets and tear gas canisters.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the residents of al-Zababdeh clashed with the soldiers in an effort to disrupt the military operation targeting the nearby al-Kafir town.
