The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked on Monday Palestinian citizens participating in a march staged in the northern Jordan Valley to protest Israel’s settlement activities and displacement campaigns in the area.
According to local sources Israeli soldiers at the Tayaseer checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley prevented the participants in the march from going to al-Farisiya village which is exposed to repeated demolition campaigns and settler assaults.
The sources said that the soldiers assaulted the protesters and attacked them with pepper spray after they reached the checkpoint while carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans against Israeli settlement activities in the area.
Palestinian citizens in al-Farisiya village suffer from systematic demolition campaigns targeting their homes and property at the pretext that they were built with no permits in Area C of the West Bank which is under Israeli military control.
