Several Palestinian university students were injured on Tuesday after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked a peaceful march staged at the northern entrance to Ramallah and Bireh.
Student blocs from Birzeit University in Ramallah yesterday called for organizing a march in the area in protest at the killing of four young men in Jenin a few days ago.
According to local sources Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint near the illegal settlement of Beit El showered the participants in the march with tear gas canisters and fired rubber bullets at them.
The protesters in turn hurled stones at the soldiers and torched tires on the road.
Last Monday the IOF stormed at dawn Jenin City and its refugee camp and clashed with resistance fighters and local youths.
Four young men were killed during the Jenin events but the IOF was able to detain the bodies of two martyrs upon their withdrawal.
