Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday during the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) suppression of rallies condemning the settlements in various areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Israeli police quelled the march and fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters at the citizens and chased the young men. Dozens of citizens suffered breathing difficulties.

The IOF soldiers attacked the rally and confrontations broke out in Mount Sobeih in Beita town south of Nablus.

Hundreds of Palestinians participated in a massive march towards the settlement outpost opposite the mountain after performing Friday prayer in the Montazah area. The demonstration was called for by the factional coordination committee in the town.

Ahmed Jibril the director of ambulance and emergency at the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus said that five civilians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets one of them in his head. Others suffered breathing problems.

He added that an ambulance was targeted with a gas bomb.

Another clash erupted as the IOF suppressed a protest against the settlement expansion in the Masafer Yatta area south of al-Khalil.

The participants performed Friday prayer on the lands threatened with confiscation near the Aviqal settlement where settlers had previously set up a tent and the residents managed on Friday morning to remove it.

Ratib al-Jabour the coordinator of the Popular and National Committees to Resist the Wall and Settlements said that IOF soldiers fired tear gas and sound bombs at dozens of citizens from the al-Masafer villages without any injuries reported.

IOF and settlers have recently escalated their attacks and settlement measures in al-Masafer as on Friday morning a citizen and his son were seriously wounded in an attack by settlers in the Maghair Al-Obeid area.

Salim Abu Jaish a member of the Land Defense Committee in Beit Dajan village stated that IOF attacked the participants in the weekly march with live bullets and stun grenades. No injuries were reported.

The townspeople protested against the establishment of a settlement outpost and to mark the 20th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sameh Abu Hanish who was martyred during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in Jenin.

Meanwhile two citizens were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets while dozens suffered breathing problems as a result of the IOF oppression of citizens who performed Friday prayer on the lands threatened to be seized in the al-Ras area west of Salfit.

Confrontations also broke out after the IOF quelled the weekly march that was launched from Kafr Qaddoum Qalqilya.
