BETHLEHEM (PIC)– The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have savagely quelled peaceful demonstrations in the West Bank on Friday against the apartheid wall the Israeli occupation is building.
According to eyewitnesses scores of IOF troops arrived to the site of the demonstration near the village of Masara Bethlehem district and fired teargas canisters and sound bombs causing breathing difficulties to tens of demonstrators including foreign nationals.
At least one lady foreign supporter sustained wounds when the soldiers harshly assaulted her and seized journalists and cameramen to conceal the soldiers’ crime and violent quelling of the rally.
In the village of Nilin Ramallah district the quelling scenario was repeated with the IOF troops firing rubber-coated bullets on the demonstrators wounding a number of them. The demonstrators raised the Palestinian flag and placards urging an immediate inter-Palestinian reconciliation.
Organizers of the peaceful demonstrations revealed that the IOF troops arrested former vice-president of the European Union Luisa Morgantini who participated in another demonstration in Bilin village also in Ramallah district along with three foreign activists before releasing them later on.
After her release Morgantini urged the EU Russia and the USA to pressure the Israeli occupation government to stop forcing Palestinians out of their homeland and to allow them to announce their independent state to live in security and peace.
