Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Friday quelled a weekly peaceful march that demands opening a main road in Qelqis area east of al-Khalil.
According to a local source the IOF deployed large numbers of soldiers in the area and banned the inhabitants from accessing the demonstration site. IOF troops threatened the protesters with beating and shooting the source pointed out.
The IOF detained the cameraman of Palestine TV in al-Khalil Ala Al-Haddad and barred journalists from covering the event.
The IOF has been closing the Qelqis road for 17 years which forces the inhabitants to take long non-paved alternate routes.
